University of Wisconsin’s Enrollment Rises Across Campuses

The University of Wisconsin campus has seen a significant increase in fall enrollment this year, with almost 2,000 more students choosing to attend. Overall enrollment has gone up by 1.2%, totaling 164,431 students this semester. While branch campus enrollment saw a decline of 22%, the main campuses, such as UW-Madison and UW-Milwaukee, have seen an increase in student numbers. President Jay Rothman expressed pride in the continuing value that Wisconsin students and parents place on a University of Wisconsin education.

The flagship campus of UW-Madison has over 51,000 enrolled students, making it the largest campus in the system. UW-Milwaukee follows with over 22,000 students, while the smallest campus, UW-Superior, has nearly 3,000 students. These enrollment numbers are based on the “10th day” counts reported to the federal government.

This marks the second consecutive year of enrollment growth for the University of Wisconsin system, reflecting the continued popularity and quality of education offered by the institution. The university system has been successful in attracting students despite the challenges posed by the ongoing pandemic. The increase in enrollment is a positive sign for the university and its commitment to providing a valuable educational experience for students across Wisconsin.
