The Danforth Technology Center introduces their latest startup Metablify

Metablify, a newly launched startup out of the Danforth Technology Company (DTC), aims to revolutionize the field of metabolomics by providing researchers with a platform to identify and analyze a vast number of metabolites that could potentially lead to groundbreaking discoveries in drug development, agriculture, and personalized medicine.

Founded by plant scientists Ivan Baxter, PhD, Allen Hubbard, PhD, Louis Connelly, and CEO Michael Bielski, Metablify uses LC/MS data processing algorithms to sift through thousands of metabolites in an experiment and pinpoint the most important ones. The platform was born out of the founders’ realization that existing tools were limiting their ability to process a large number of samples efficiently, leading them to develop a solution similar to PCR, but for metabolites.

The team at Metablify believes that their platform could lead to the discovery of new drugs, biomarkers, and approaches to enhancing crop yields and tackling challenges such as drought resistance. The company has already received funding from various sources, including grants from the Danforth Center’s proof-of-concept fund, early seed money from competitions, and investments from DTC and QRM Capital.

Moving forward, Metablify is focused on expanding its partnerships and collaborations to validate its technology and potentially commercialize it to a broader audience. The founders see a clear roadmap to serving a wide range of customers in the metabolomics space and are confident that their platform could unlock a wealth of valuable information for researchers looking to solve complex problems in various fields.
