A helicopter on an air tour flight crashed into a radio tower in Houston on Sunday, killing all four people aboard. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the incident. The helicopter struck the tower at around 7:51 p.m., resulting in a fire below. The names and ages of those killed have not been released, but one of them was a child, according to Houston’s police chief. The helicopter took off from Ellington Airport in Houston. The tower, owned by SBA Communications, was acquired on Sept. 4 and had a notice to air missions to warn pilots. The crash caused the tower to collapse and debris spread over about 4 acres. Some vehicles on the ground were damaged, but there were no reports of injuries to people on the ground. Police and residents are grateful that more casualties were avoided. NTSB investigator Brian Rutt described the wreckage as a complex scene and that officials are being thorough in their investigation. The crash was a tragic event, but authorities are relieved that it did not result in a larger loss of life.
