A veteran cop, George Trimilozi and an experienced teacher, Steven Arey were among a crew arrested and charged with running brothels and managing sex workers on Long Island, New York. The Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office indicted them along with Frank Saggio and his girlfriend Dana Ciardullo for enterprise corruption and promoting prostitution among other charges. The group allegedly collected “house fees” from sex workers and advertised their services at several locations in Suffolk County. Trimilozi and Arey were said to have managed a building in Holbrook known as the American Girls Spa, as well as two other alleged brothels. The criminal investigation revealed that Trimilozi abandoned his post as a police officer to respond to a call warning him of police on the way to American Girls Spa, driving nearly 90 mph to get there. Saggio was charged with sex trafficking and making sex workers sign leases requiring them to pay him monthly. Each defendant faces multiple charges and could potentially be sentenced to 8 to 25 years in prison if convicted on the most serious charges. Attorneys representing the four defendants were contacted for comment, but have not responded. Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney described the case as a “shocking betrayal of public trust.”
