A manhunt has been launched for multiple shooters who killed four people and injured 18 more in Birmingham, Alabama. The incident occurred in one of the city’s popular entertainment districts, where multiple shooters fired on a large group of people. At least four of the wounded have life-threatening injuries.
The police arrived on the scene shortly after 11 p.m. and found two adult males and one adult female unresponsive on the sidewalk suffering from gunshot wounds. Medics pronounced them dead at the scene, while the fourth victim was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. The motive for the shooting is unclear, but investigators believe the shooters targeted the victims when they were out in the open, either on the sidewalk or the street.
The police are working to identify and hunt down those responsible for the shooting, and are asking for the public’s help in providing any information. Businesses in the area with security cameras are urged to check their footage for any relevant information. The FBI and ATF are assisting in the investigation.
This incident is the second mass shooting in Birmingham this year, with a previous incident in July where four people were killed at a nightclub. The police believe that the shooting was not random and stemmed from an isolated incident where multiple victims were caught in the crossfire.
