Increase in incidences of devices exploding in Lebanon: What is the cause? | Updates from Hezbollah

A wave of explosions in Lebanon, including walkie-talkies, laptops, and radios, has led to at least 14 deaths and 450 injuries following the detonation of pagers belonging to Hezbollah members a day prior. The blasts occurred in the southern suburbs of Beirut and the city of Tyre, causing chaos and panic with reports of vehicles on fire and residential buildings damaged.

The explosions, which also involved solar panels and other devices, have raised concerns of a potential conflict escalation between Israel and Hezbollah. Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant hinted at a shift in focus towards Lebanon, while Hezbollah has accused Israel of being behind the attacks.

Hezbollah’s communication systems appeared to be targeted, but the group has alternative secure methods in place. The incidents have caused fear and confusion among the Lebanese population, with many disposing of their devices or seeking reassurance from security forces.

The attacks are seen as a significant security breach for Hezbollah and a psychological warfare tactic by Israel. Analysts warn of a possible phase three of Israel’s strategy following the explosions, which have left the country on edge and waiting for what may come next.
